Nashville, the city built on a foundation of country music and big dreams, is a place where aspiring artists come to make their mark. The road to success is long and winding, paved with late nights, co-writing sessions, and the unwavering hope that they will be discovered. Today, we’ll unpack Chandler Brown’s music success story as a singer-songwriter. Affectionately known as “CHANDADDY,” he is an artist who has not only navigated that road but is also carving his own promising path. I got the chance to interview him behind the scenes at a private songwriter event called “Bands At The Barn,” where he shared his journey.

From the Classroom to the Writing Room
Chandler’s musical journey officially began in 2015 when he relocated to Nashville. He didn’t waste any time and immediately enrolled in the Commercial Songwriting program at Middle Tennessee State University. Under the guidance of Grammy-nominated songwriter Odie Blackmon, he not only learned about music theory but also immersed himself. He dove headfirst into the Nashville ecosystem, building crucial connections and learning the intricate dance of crafting compelling songs.
This formal education was just the beginning. Chandler submerged himself in the vibrant world of Music Row, spending countless hours in writing rooms and recording studios. The hard work paid off as he began collaborating with a diverse range of artists, including Brent Cobb, Devin Dawson, Daniel Donato, and Dee White. These collaborations weren’t just about getting his songs heard, they were invaluable lessons in finding his own unique voice within the Nashville soundscape.

A Major Milestone and a New Chapter
A major turning point in Chandler’s career came with his recent signing to a publishing deal with Devin Dawson’s Warrior Poet Music in partnership with Warner Chappell Nashville. This partnership wasn’t just a business deal as a singer-songwriter. It was a huge vote of confidence in his talent and a testament to the dedication he’s poured into his songwriting. It opens up a whole new world of opportunities within the industry, signaling that he is ready for the next level.
But Chandler’s story isn’t confined to the writing room. You can often find him on the legendary Broadway strip, where the energy is palpable and the competition is fierce. These live performances are a crucial part of his “on the rise” narrative, allowing him to connect directly with the audience and hone his stage presence. His sound, a unique blend of country, Americana, and his own coined “yallternative,” is authentically him and is capturing attention all over town. His hard work is paying off online too, in two years, he was able to generate over 10,000,000 streams as a songwriter.

Balancing Life and a Rising Career
Like many Nashville artists, Chandler balances a demanding career with his personal life. His marriage to his college sweetheart, Kristen, and the birth of their two children, add another layer to his story. This personal foundation provides grounding and, perhaps, even inspiration for his songwriting. It’s no coincidence that his recent single is called “Stay at Home Dad,” proving that his music is as genuine as his life.

From his initial move to Nashville in 2015 to the buzz surrounding his recent releases and publishing deal, Chandler Brown’s journey is one of dedication, collaboration, and a steady climb to the top. As he continues to share his music, it’s clear that “CHANDADDY” isn’t just living the Nashville dream, he’s actively shaping it.
